Updates and maintenance
Keep FeatherPanel healthy. The System Updates page for panel, plugins and Wings, turning modules off, the Pterodactyl importer page and the developer support tools.
On this page
System Updates
System Updates (System group, admin.root) has three parts:
| Part | Shows |
|---|---|
| Panel | Current and latest version, channel, PHP version, security release badge, changelog, and Update Panel Now on Docker installs. |
| Plugins | Installed plugins matched against the FeatherCloud store, with Update and Update selected. Plugins installed by hand show as not in the store. |
| Wings Nodes | The FeatherWings version on each node, with an update action. Nodes that cannot update themselves are marked Manual update required. |
Updates run database migrations, so keep a recent backup. The full update steps, including the command line, are in Updating the panel and Updating Wings.
Modules
Settings, Modules can turn whole product lines off. Each defaults to on:
| Setting | Module |
|---|---|
module_game_enabled | Game servers: Wings nodes, servers, spells and realms. |
module_vds_enabled | VDS on Proxmox. |
module_web_enabled | Web hosting: WebSpaces, web nodes, mail and DNS hosts. |
pterodactyl_importer_visibility | auto, always or hidden: when the Pterodactyl importer shows in the sidebar and search. |
Database Management
The panel’s own database status, migrations and phpMyAdmin are covered in Database hosts.
Pterodactyl Importer
The Pterodactyl Importer page (admin.databases.manage) walks through the requirements, helper install, API key,
configuration and run. The full guide is Migrating from Pterodactyl. After the
migration you can hide the page.
Support page
FeatherPanel Support (admin.root) is for working with the FeatherPanel developers on an open ticket:
- Remote shell (sshx): install and run sshx on the panel server to get a browser shell link. Anyone with the link has full shell access, so only paste it in the ticket when a developer asks, and stop it with Ctrl+C afterwards. sshx is a third-party tool.
- Upload panel logs: a link to Settings, where Upload Logs sends web, app and runner logs to a paste service and gives you URLs to share.
- Links to the community Discord and these docs.
Other troubleshooting steps are in Troubleshooting.
Frequently asked questions
On Docker installs, yes. System Updates has an Update Panel Now button. Take a database backup first, because updates run migrations.
Set module_game_enabled to false in Settings, Modules. There are also switches for the VDS and web hosting modules.
